Cold-applied & in-situ

Systems go on cold, on-site — no hot work, no flame, minimal downtime.

Supplied + applied

Take the materials, the trained application, or both — from one local team.

24-hour support

Emergency response across Louisiana, around the clock.

Authorized distributor

Genuine Belzona systems with full technical and warranty backing.

This page is the cross-industry entry point for facility maintenance — a guide to which Belzona product family addresses which failure mode, when to reach for cold-cure metal repair versus the chemical-resistant 4000-series, and which industry-specific page carries the deeper detail. Use it to orient before drilling into the specific industry context.

What drives the decision

Facility maintenance buyers usually arrive here with one of three questions: 'what does Belzona do,' 'which product fits my problem,' or 'is the application sequence I'm planning the standard one.' This page answers the first two; the industry-specific pages answer the third in sector context.

Choosing the system

The portfolio splits into six product families that recur across every industry. The 1000-series rebuilds metal (1111, 1212, 1311). The 1300-series adds erosion resistance (1321, 1341, 1391T). The 1500-series handles high-temperature service (1511, 1593). The 4000-series Magma CR family handles concrete and chemical resistance (4111/4131/4141 rebuild, 4311/4331/4341 topcoat). The 5000-series covers immersion-grade and barriers (5811, 5831, 5871). The 4411/5231 family handles slip-resistant flooring.

Where Belzona systems get specified — open any area to dig in.

01Concrete repair, restoration, and protection

Concrete failure mode drives the largest single category of facility maintenance work — spalling, rebar corrosion, freeze-thaw cracking, chemical attack, and impact damage on industrial floors, walkways, loading docks, and structural slabs. The repair sequence is to rebuild the substrate with the 4100-series (Belzona 4111 Magma-Quartz for fast cure on small-to-medium areas, 4154 Bulkfill Resin with locally sourced aggregate for large areas) and then top-coat with the appropriate Magma CR-grade for the chemistry on site. For deeper context on chemical exposure on concrete, see the Chemical Industry page; for food-zone floor compliance, see Food and Drink Industry; for the school-and-campus version of the same product set, see Education Industry.

02Metal repair — bearing housings, pump casings, structural steel

The 1000-series metal repair composites are the workhorses for any metal substrate that has lost measurable material to wear, corrosion, or impact. Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) is the standard rebuild compound for casings, housings, and flanges. Belzona 1212 is the fast-cure surface-tolerant variant for emergency repair where the substrate is wet or oily. Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) handles harder service. For sector-specific procedure, the Steel Industry page covers ladle turret and trunnion bearing rebuild; Marine Industry covers in-service hull and bilge repair; Wind Power Industry covers gearbox shaft and bearing housing rebuild on tower-mounted equipment.

03Erosion-resistant and high-temperature linings

Once the metal is rebuilt, the topcoat depends on the service condition. Erosion-corrosion in flowing water uses the 1300-series ceramic coatings (1321 Ceramic S-Metal, 1341 Supermetalglide). High-temperature service above roughly 80°C uses the 1500-series (1391T, 1593) — the Oil and Gas Industry and Petrochemical Industry pages cover amine column and CUI applications in detail. For cavitation duty, the 2000-series elastomers (2141 ACR Fluid Elastomer) replace rigid coatings; see the Power and Hydropower Industry page for hydro turbine runner specifics.

04Chemical containment, bunds, and acid-service surfaces

Concrete bunds and secondary containment under aggressive chemistry pull from the 4000-series Magma CR family — 4311 for ambient sulfuric acid service, 4331 for broader chemical resistance with USDA incidental food contact, 4341 for inorganic acid duty, 4351 and 4361 for specialty conditions. The Chemical Industry page is the operational reference; the Water and Wastewater Industry page covers plant-side chemical handling (chlorine, ferric chloride, polymer feed).

05Slip-resistant flooring, walkways, and platform decks

Slip safety on industrial walkways is a routinely audited liability. Belzona 4411 (Granogrip) is the graded slip-resistant surface specified across most assets; Belzona 5231 (SG Laminate) is the low-odor epoxy floor coating used where installation has to happen in occupied or food-zone areas. Sector-specific applications: Healthcare Industry for hospital floors, Food and Drink Industry for wet-zone food production floors, Wind Power Industry for nacelle decks and ladder rungs.

06Live leak repair, composite wraps, and emergency sealing

Live leak repair on operating pipework is one of the highest-value Belzona applications across every industry — the alternative is a planned shutdown, isolation, and full repair that the schedule may not allow. Composite wrap systems hold under flow long enough to schedule the proper isolation. The Oil and Gas Industry and Water and Wastewater Industry pages cover live leak procedure in operational detail.

07Operator-safety thermal protection and burn-hazard reduction

Belzona 5871 is a low-conductivity thermal-barrier coating engineered for operator burn-hazard reduction on uninsulated steam piping and other hot exposed surfaces. The Pulp and Paper Industry page documents a four-section batch digester case running at 200°F maximum.

08Where to go from here

If your facility doesn't match a sector covered on this site, the closest analogues are the Water and Wastewater Industry page (for any water-handling or chemical containment work) and the Healthcare Industry or Education Industry pages (for occupied-building and low-odor application work). Asset-level deep dives: Floor Problem Areas, Wall Problem Areas, Roof Problem Areas, Pipelines, Pumps, Valves, Pipes & Fittings.
