Overview
Leading-edge erosion from particulate-laden gas streams reshapes blower vanes, ID fan blades, and combustion turbine guide vanes, dropping airflow capacity and unbalancing the rotor over a single service campaign. Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) rebuilds eroded leading edges and tips with a cold-cure metal composite that machines to the original aerodynamic profile; Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) overcoats the rebuild with an erosion-resistant ceramic-filled layer rated for continuous immersion to 140°F (60°C) on the gas side. Repair completes during the scheduled outage with no thermal stress on the blade root.
