Overview of Belzona 1311

A two-component paste grade system designed for rebuilding metals damaged by erosion-corrosion. Based on a silicon-steel alloy and ceramic particles blended within high molecular weight reactive polymers and oligomers.

Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) is specifically designed to be used with Belzona erosion-corrosion resistant coatings. It also serves as a high strength structural adhesive for bonding or for creation of irregular load bearing shims with good electrical insulation characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) used for?

Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) is a 2-part ceramic-filled epoxy paste used to rebuild and protect metal substrates against erosion-corrosion. It is widely used on pump casings and impellers, valve bodies, fan blades, hydraulic rams, and other metal equipment subject to combined wear and corrosion.

How does Belzona 1311 protect against erosion-corrosion?

The ceramic aggregate in Belzona 1311 provides hardness and erosion resistance, while the epoxy binder delivers excellent corrosion protection and adhesion to metal. Together, the system protects substrates from the combined attack of moving fluids and slurries that cause erosion-corrosion damage.

Can Belzona 1311 be machined?

Yes. Belzona 1311 can be machined using conventional metalworking tools after full cure, allowing precise rebuilding of damaged components to original dimensions and tolerances.
