Overview of Belzona 1251

A single component heat-activated paste grade system based on a silicon steel alloy blended with a heat-activated resin. When cured, the material is durable and corrosion resistant.

Belzona 1251 (HA-Metal) is designed for the repair and protection of metal surfaces whilst in service. This heat-activated material can be applied directly onto hot surfaces (158-302°F / 70-150°C) with minimal surface preparation, avoiding production downtime.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Belzona 1251 used for?

Belzona 1251 is a 2-part epoxy composite for the rapid repair and rebuilding of metal components in emergency situations. It is designed for quick application and fast return to service on pumps, pipework, valves, and similar equipment where prolonged shutdown is not acceptable.

Is Belzona 1251 machinable?

Yes. Belzona 1251 cures to a fully machinable composite that can be drilled, tapped, sanded, ground, and milled with conventional metalworking tools, allowing precise restoration of dimensions and profiles after repair.

What surfaces does Belzona 1251 bond to?

Belzona 1251 has excellent adhesion to clean, abrasive-blasted carbon steel, stainless steel, and many other metals. Substrates should be free of oil, grease, loose corrosion, and scale prior to application for optimal adhesion.
