Overview of Belzona 1151

A 2-part epoxy-based repair composite for rebuilding shallow pitting in metals damaged by erosion and corrosion. This 100% solids material is specifically formulated to easily fill in areas of metal loss up to 6 mm deep, quickly restoring large areas and avoiding hot work and plate welding. Belzona 1151 (Smoothing Metal) will not corrode and will resist a wide range of chemicals.

This repair composite is ideally suited to be overcoated with epoxy coatings such as Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) for long-term protection against the effects of erosion, corrosion and chemical attack.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Belzona 1151 used for?

Belzona 1151 is a high temperature metal-filled epoxy paste used for in-situ repair of high temperature metal substrates. It is suitable for emergency leak sealing, rebuilding pump casings, valves, flanges, heat exchanger tube sheets, and similar equipment where service temperatures exceed the limits of standard repair composites.

What service temperature can Belzona 1151 handle?

Belzona 1151 is designed for elevated temperature service, with dry service ratings substantially above standard 1000-series composites. Refer to the Product Specification Sheet for exact wet and dry service limits.

How is Belzona 1151 mixed and applied?

Belzona 1151 is a 2-part paste system. Mix the Base and Solidifier thoroughly to a uniform color, then apply with a plastic applicator or spatula directly to the prepared surface. Press firmly to displace air and ensure full contact, then contour to the desired profile. Surface preparation by abrasive blasting is strongly recommended for maximum adhesion.
