Frequently Asked Questions
What is Belzona 1331 used for?
Belzona 1331 is a fluid-grade ceramic-filled epoxy coating engineered for the protection of metal substrates from erosion-corrosion in immersion service. It is commonly applied to pump casings, impellers, valves, heat exchangers, and pipework handling water and aqueous chemical solutions.
Is Belzona 1331 suitable for immersion service?
Yes. Belzona 1331 is specifically formulated for continuous immersion in water and aqueous solutions. Refer to the Product Specification Sheet for the exact temperature limits and chemical compatibility data.
How is Belzona 1331 applied?
Belzona 1331 is applied by brush or roller in two coats. The substrate must be abrasive-blasted to remove all corrosion and provide the surface profile required for adhesion. Application should follow the surface preparation, mixing, and overcoat windows specified in the Belzona Instructions for Use.
