Mining & Quarrying Industry
Cold-applied repair composites and abrasion-resistant linings for crushers, conveyors, pumps, and chutes — restoring worn mining and quarrying equipment in situ instead of replacing it.

Our approach
Cold-applied & in-situ
Systems go on cold, on-site — no hot work, no flame, minimal downtime.
Supplied + applied
Take the materials, the trained application, or both — from one local team.
24-hour support
Emergency response across Louisiana, around the clock.

Mining and quarrying equipment runs in some of the most aggressive service there is — abrasive solids, corrosive process water, and constant impact wear on assets that are expensive to replace and costly to take offline. Belzona's metal and rubber repair composites, abrasion-resistant linings, and chemical-resistant coatings are specified to rebuild and protect this equipment in situ, cutting downtime and deferring replacement.
In mining and quarrying, the question is rarely whether a worn chute or pump can be rebuilt — it's whether the rebuild survives the next shift of abrasive throughput and impact loading. Belzona's product selection is driven by the wear mode: erosion, sliding abrasion, impact, or chemical attack.
For solids-handling wear, Belzona 1811 (Ceramic Carbide) rebuilds damaged screw conveyors, while Belzona 1812 (Ceramic Carbide FP) lines pipe elbows, chutes, and hoppers as a sacrificial abrasion barrier. Rubber repair grades — Belzona 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer) and Belzona 2311 (SR Elastomer) — patch conveyor belts and heavy-duty tyres without hot vulcanisation. On pumps, Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) and Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) restore erosion-corrosion resistance, and Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) handles in-situ metal rebuild and chocking.

Where Belzona systems get specified — open any area to dig in.
01Solids handling: screw conveyors, belts, and drive rollers
Solids-handling equipment takes continuous wear from the material it moves. Belzona 1811 (Ceramic Carbide) rebuilds damaged screw conveyors and gives them long-term abrasion resistance, while flexible rubber grades — Belzona 2111 (D&A Hi-Build Elastomer) and Belzona 2311 (SR Elastomer) — repair worn conveyor belts and heavy-duty tyres in place, without hot vulcanisation or disassembly. Belzona 1821 (Fluid Metal) adds a slip-reduction surface that eliminates belt slippage and protects drive rollers from abrasion and corrosion.
02Abrasion and impact: pipe elbows, chutes, and hoppers
Abrasion-resistant linings repair and protect pipe elbows, chutes, and hoppers by giving up a sacrificial layer instead of the parent metal. Belzona 1812 (Ceramic Carbide FP) is specified into high-wear transfer points for the time and cost it saves against constant plate replacement. Where impact rather than sliding wear dominates, tough, fast-curing materials from the Belzona 2000 Series provide a flexible sacrificial lining that turns a repair around quickly.
03Pumps and fluid handling
Centrifugal and vacuum pumps in mining duty combine erosion, corrosion, and chemical attack. Belzona 1212 makes cold-cure, in-situ repairs to pump cracks and holes; Belzona 1311 (Ceramic R-Metal) rebuilds the casing and impeller with chemical resistance, and Belzona 1321 (Ceramic S-Metal) restores the smooth, erosion-resistant running face. On refurbished pumps, Belzona 1341 (Supermetalglide) is proven to improve efficiency — up to 7% on new equipment and up to 20% on refurbished equipment.
04Mechanical repair, chocking, and shimming
Heavy machinery loses tolerance to bearing wear, vibration, and lubrication loss. Belzona 1131 (Bearing Metal) reduces start-up friction by trapping and holding lubricating oil, and Belzona 1212 makes the fast-cure emergency repairs that get a bearing housing back in service. For misaligned machinery, loose bearing pins, and poorly fitting components, Belzona 1111 (Super Metal) rebuilds to specification and Belzona 7111 pours as a chocking compound that spreads evenly across irregular surfaces to fully support plant and equipment.
05Chemical attack: storage and leach tanks
Process chemistry attacks chemical storage tanks, leach tanks, and their secondary containment. Belzona 4311 (Magma CR1) protects containment areas against contaminated and acidic media, while Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) protects equipment operating under continuous immersion. The same coatings restore pump bases and volutes exposed to sulphuric-acid service.
