Overview of Belzona 5811
Belzona 5811 (Immersion Grade) is a 2-part, solvent-free epoxy coating that delivers outstanding chemical resistance and protects equipment operating under immersion in aqueous solutions up to 122°F (50°C) from corrosion damage.
This 100% solids material can be easily applied by brush, roller, squeegee, injection, or airless spray to virtually any metallic and non-metallic surface, including cast iron, stainless steel, brass, copper, concrete, wood, fiberglass, and aluminum.
Typical applications include tanks, bunds, process vessels, pumps, pipes, heat exchangers, clarifiers, secondary containment areas, and pipework, plus use as a high-strength structural adhesive for metal bonding.
Belzona 5811 holds Product Type Approval from the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and is also a WRAS Approved Material. For potable water applications, see Belzona 5811DW2.
Key Benefits
Effective protection of equipment operating under immersion conditions from corrosion damage.
Reduced health and safety risks as it is 100% solids, with no solvents required.
Spray- or brush-applied onto metallic surfaces, concrete, brick and others. Cures in low-temperature and damp conditions.
Resists ethanol, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrobromic acid, potassium hydroxide, ethyl acetate, methyl acetate, ethylene glycol, ammonia solution, diethanolamine, hydrocarbons, sea water and crude oil.
Eliminates the need for equipment replacement and reduces downtime.
Excellent adhesion to virtually any surface including cast iron, stainless steel, brass, copper, concrete, wood, fiberglass and aluminum.
