Overview of Belzona 5813

Belzona 5813 is a 100% solids, two-component static dissipative barrier coating. The epoxy-based system is designed to transfer surface electrostatic charge build-up away from hazardous areas.

Due to its excellent static dissipative properties, Belzona 5813 helps to eliminate electrostatic charge in environments where flammable materials are stored. Surfaces coated with Belzona 5813 prevent sparks, shorts, and sudden discharges that could lead to an explosion.

The product is easy to mix and can be applied without the need for specialist tools. Typical applications include static dissipative and chemically resistant coating for primary and secondary chemical containment areas, fuel storage tanks where fluid is agitated, refineries and grain silos susceptible to static charge accumulation, and static dissipative floor coatings for factories and warehouses.

Key Benefits

Static Dissipative — Prevents Sparks

The surface resistivity of Belzona 5813 helps dissipate a static charge, preventing sparks, shorts and sudden discharge that can lead to an explosion.

100% Solids Barrier Coating

Solvent-free solution that does not shrink when curing and reduces health and safety risks in confined spaces.

Suitable for Flammable Storage Areas

Designed to transfer surface electrostatic charge build-up away from hazardous areas, helping to eliminate static charges where flammable materials are stored.

Easy to Mix — No Specialist Tools

Easy to mix and can be applied without the need for specialist tools.

Excellent Chemical Resistance

Solvent-free epoxy barrier coating providing chemical resistance for protection of bunds, chemical channels, filtration systems and tanks.

Designed for Containment Areas

Two-component static dissipative barrier coating designed for use in chemical channels, bunds, fuel storage, silos, tanks and similar containment areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a static dissipative coating?

A static dissipative coating is designed to transfer surface electrostatic charge build-up away from hazardous areas before it can accumulate. By providing a controlled discharge path, Belzona 5813 helps prevent sparks, shorts, and sudden discharges that could ignite flammable materials in storage and handling areas.

Where is Belzona 5813 used?

Belzona 5813 is well suited to static-sensitive environments including primary and secondary chemical containment areas, fuel storage tanks where fluid is agitated, refineries, grain silos, and static dissipative floor coatings for factories and warehouses.

Is Belzona 5813 easy to apply?

Yes. Belzona 5813 is a 100% solids, two-component coating that is easy to mix and can be applied without the need for specialist tools, similar to other Belzona barrier coatings.
