Overview of Belzona 5122
A water-repellent breathable treatment designed to protect masonry surfaces from water penetration without altering the natural appearance of the structures, as it becomes transparent when cured.
This 100% solids material prevents spalling and cracking of surfaces such as concrete, stone and brick, while reducing dirt retention. It is supplied as a concentrate, which can be easily diluted on-site with water and applied by brush or spray to provide long-term protection and maintain building fabric insulation properties.
Key Benefits
No solvents, no shrinkage during cure
Allows trapped moisture to escape while providing long-term weatherproofing protection
Applies and cures down to 0°C (32°F) and even during adverse weather conditions
Provides long-term protection and waterproofing of roofs in excess of 25 years

Frequently Asked Questions
What surfaces can Belzona 5122 be applied to?
Belzona 5122 (Clear Cladding Concentrate) is suitable for porous mineral substrates including concrete, limestone, sandstone, brick, dolomite, and asbestos cement. It provides excellent adhesion across a wide range of pH values from 7.8 to 9.9, making it effective on alkaline materials such as cement and mortar. Typical applications include the waterproofing of brickwork, stone, and concrete structures, long-term protection of statues and monuments, and reconstructed stone protection.
How is Belzona 5122 mixed and applied?
Belzona 5122 is supplied as a concentrate and must be diluted before application. Mix one liter of Belzona 5122 with nine liters of clean tap water in a plastic bucket and stir thoroughly. In particularly exposed situations or where rain runs down inclined surfaces, use a dilution of seven parts water to one part concentrate. Apply by long-bristled brush or low-pressure spray, starting at the lowest section of the prepared surface and working upward so the material runs down into previously coated areas. The diluted material must be used within 24 hours and should not be applied below 41°F (5°C).
Will Belzona 5122 change the appearance of the surface?
No. Belzona 5122 dries to be completely invisible, retaining the natural appearance of the substrate. Because the material is transparent when cured, care should be taken to mark treated areas if the work is interrupted to avoid misses when the application is resumed. The treated surface remains breathable due to its microporous structure, allowing the passage of air and water vapor while preventing water ingress. Treated surfaces also exhibit reduced dirt retention and inhibited growth of moss, mold, and algae.
