Frequently Asked Questions
What is Belzona 1593 used for?
Belzona 1593 is a 2-part hand-applied high temperature coating designed for continuous immersion service in aqueous and hydrocarbon systems up to 320°F (160°C). It offers the highest hand-applied immersion temperature in the Belzona HT family.
How does Belzona 1593 differ from Belzona 1523?
Belzona 1593 is hand-applied by brush or applicator and rated for continuous immersion to 160°C (320°F), while Belzona 1523 is heated-spray-applied and rated to 140°C (284°F). The choice between them depends on application method preference and the maximum service temperature required.
Can Belzona 1593 withstand steam-out?
Yes. Belzona 1593 has outstanding steam-out resistance — withstanding 96 hours at 482°F (250°C) and 5 weeks at 365°F (185°C). This makes it well-suited for vessels and equipment that undergo periodic high temperature cleaning cycles.
