Overview of Belzona 8411
Belzona 8411 is a one-part, solvent-based corrosion-inhibiting wax with release properties, used in conjunction with Belzona 3411 or Belzona 3412 to provide protection to metal substrates exposed to low-level corrosion (such as workshop environments) and as part of a peelable, resealable encapsulation system for flanges, fastenings, and similar geometries.
The Belzona Flange Sealing Solution — combining Belzona 3412 (or 3411) with Belzona 8411 — is specifically designed to exclude moisture and prevent atmospheric, galvanic, and crevice corrosion. Belzona 8411 is chlorine-free and can be applied by spraying from conventional or airless spray equipment, by dipping, or by brushing. The dry film can be removed when required using common solvents.
Note: This material should not be used as a stand-alone product.
Key Benefits
Can be cut, peeled back and resealed allowing easy access to fastenings for inspection
Applied by brush or spray for fast and efficient coverage

Drying Times
Drying times depend on the thickness of Belzona 8411 applied, air movement, and substrate temperature. They may be significantly extended where a thick layer is applied to a cold substrate in still conditions.
- At 41°F (5°C)
- Touch dry in 2 hours
- At 68°F (20°C)
- Touch dry in 1 hour
- At 104°F (40°C)
- Touch dry in 30 minutes
General Drying Range
- Approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on temperature and film thickness
Service Temperature Limits
- Minimum substrate temperature for application
- 41°F (5°C) — surfaces below this should be warmed before use
- Storage
- Keep container tightly closed; protect from heat, sparks, and flame
- Shelf life
- 5 years
- For in-service temperature limits, refer to the attached Instructions for Use and contact your local Belzona representative.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Belzona 8411 used for?
Belzona 8411 is a one-part, solvent-based corrosion-inhibiting wax with release properties, used in conjunction with Belzona 3411 or Belzona 3412 to provide protection to metal substrates exposed to low-level corrosion (such as workshop environments) and as part of the Belzona Flange Sealing Solution that encapsulates flanges, fastenings, and similar geometries to exclude moisture and prevent atmospheric, galvanic, and crevice corrosion.
Can Belzona 8411 be used as a stand-alone product?
No. Belzona 8411 is designed to be used in conjunction with Belzona 3411 or Belzona 3412 as part of an encapsulation system. It should not be used as a stand-alone product.
How is Belzona 8411 applied?
Belzona 8411 can be applied by spraying with conventional or airless spray equipment, by dipping, or by brushing. It is also available with a non-pressurised spray pump that screws directly onto the container. Apply at approximately 86 ft²/liter (8.0 m²/liter) at 5 mil (125 microns) wet film thickness on smooth steel substrates.
What surface and weather conditions are required to apply Belzona 8411?
Surfaces should be at or above 41°F (5°C) — colder surfaces should be warmed before application. Do not apply Belzona 8411 in the presence of rain, snow, fog, or mist; when there is moisture on the metal surface or condensation is likely; or when the working environment is contaminated by oil, grease, kerosene-heater smoke, or tobacco smoke.
Can Belzona 8411 be removed if a clean surface is needed?
Yes. The dry film of Belzona 8411 can be removed by wiping the surface with a rag soaked in a suitable solvent such as Belzona 9111, Belzona 9121, white spirit, MEK, or other suitable solvent. Brushes and other application tools can be cleaned with the same solvents.
