Marine prop systems

Overview
Propeller wake turbulence and tip vortices set up cavitation along the stern tube and rudder horn, hollowing out the steel ahead of each annual dry-dock survey and threatening watertight integrity at the shaft bossing. Belzona 2141 (ACR-Fluid Elastomer) lines the affected area as a cold-applied polyurethane with proven service to water velocities up to 115 knots, eliminating the weld-rework cycle that requires hot-work permits in a fuelled vessel. The lining recoats inside the existing dry-dock window and returns the hull to class without reshafting.

About Ships & Maritime Structures
Marine and maritime repair work is constrained by class society approvals, the splash-zone tide cycle, and the cost of dry-docking. Belzona's surface-tolerant and immersion-grade systems are selected to fit those constraints: applied to damp or oil-contaminated steel, cured at ambient temperature, and built around products with vessel-side approvals tied to specific product codes.
